The Trade Development Council (TDC) is dedicated to fostering an environment that supports India’s development, collaborating with industry, government, and civil society through advisory and consultative processes. TDC is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization led and managed by industry, with a membership base of around 1000 members from both the private and public sectors, including SMEs, MNCs, and an extended network of over 100 enterprises across 15 national and regional sectoral industry bodies.
For over five years, TDC has actively contributed to shaping India's growth trajectory, focusing on transforming the engagement of Indian industry in national development. The organization drives change by closely collaborating with the government on policy matters, engaging with thought leaders, and boosting industry efficiency, competitiveness, and business opportunities through specialized services and global partnerships. It also serves as a platform for consensus-building and networking on critical issues.
Beyond business, TDC supports the industry in implementing corporate citizenship initiatives. Through partnerships with civil society organizations, TDC advances corporate efforts in areas such as affirmative action, livelihoods, diversity management, skill development, women's empowerment, and sustainable development, among others.
As India plans for its future towards the Centenary, the Indian industry must enhance its competitiveness to foster growth, embrace sustainability and climate action, and accelerate its global integration to assume leadership in a dynamic world. The role of Indian industry will be crucial to the nation's progress and success. With the 2024-25 theme, "Striving for a Competitive and Sustainable India at 100: Advancing Growth, Inclusivity, Global Integration, and Fostering Trust," TDC has outlined four key action themes to drive the country toward the vision of India at its Centenary.
With approximately 10 offices in India and 8 overseas offices in countries including the Philippines, Malaysia, Iraq, Egypt, and Ghana, along with institutional partnerships in 8 countries, TDC serves as a key reference point for both Indian industry and the global business community.
