The Trade Development Council (TDC) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing India's growth by fostering collaborative partnerships among industry, government, and civil society. Operating through advisory and consultative processes, TDC brings together diverse stakeholders to shape a sustainable and inclusive economic future for the nation.
Led and managed by industry leaders, TDC boasts a broad-based membership of nearly 140 private sector companies, including both small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and multinational corporations. The organization has played a pivotal role in India's development journey by actively engaging industry in nation-building efforts and supporting the creation of enabling policy environments.
TDC works closely with the government on policy advocacy, collaborates with global and domestic thought leaders, and provides specialized services that enhance the efficiency, competitiveness, and global integration of Indian industry. It serves as a trusted platform for dialogue, consensus-building, and networking on key national and global issues.
Through its Centres of Excellence and flagship initiatives, TDC promotes innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness across industries. It also champions corporate citizenship by supporting member companies in implementing impactful programs in areas such as skill development, women’s empowerment, sustainable livelihoods, diversity and inclusion, affirmative action, and responsible business practices.
TDC has adopted the theme “India Rising: Catalyzing Innovation, Sustainability & Global Synergies: Emphasizes India's upward trajectory through innovation and sustainable global partnerships”. as its strategic focus for 2024–25. Under this theme, the Council will concentrate on five key priorities aimed at boosting India's global competitiveness and fostering resilient, future-ready industries.
